How BABU Began
BABU (Blondes And Brunettes Unite) found its inspiration in a lunchtime conversation among four women friends - two blondes and two brunettes. As often was the case, the conversation turned to our hopes for the future and how great it would be to start a business that was both fun and that filled an unmet need.
The topic of our beloved pets came up and we realized that each of us was unable to find attractive, high-quality pet bowls. Everything we saw was decorated with catch phrases or was too colorful or too casual. We wanted a bowl that blended with our home decor, one that did not need to be hidden when company arrived. A bowl that would mirror the subtle elegance of fine china.
With that concept in mind, we each took on a different research assignment. Before long, we found the perfect porcelain bowls and lovely matching sealed canisters. We worked with an artist to create our signature patterns and selected several classic colors.
In addition to our pet china, other useful products caught our eye. Soon the BABU line included plastic storage containers (BABUware), pet can lids and our wonderful Chilly Chow containers with freezer gel lids to keep your pet's food, or a child's lunch, cold for hours.
A year later, our lunchtime dream is an exciting business endeavor. BABU's exclusive, simple and elegant designs will let everyone know that your pets, like ours, are cherished members of the household. We hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoyed creating them for you.
